Gary Shayne is not your average Chartered Accountant. As CEO and co-owner of C2C and he is responsible for the overall strategy and management of the company. Zimbabwean-born, Gary has a highly successful history in both private equity and entrepreneurial ventures. Among his successes are the listing of Celsys, one of Zim’s leading telecom companies and the founding of Shayne Accounting Services which went on to become one of the country’s largest single-owned accountancy practices. Gary was involved in a number of other Zim ventures, including Milpal Chemicals. The group sold all of their Zim interests to Lonhro in late 2007 in order to concentrate on the SA market. Gary’s passion for private equity is a key driving force at C2C.

Cris Dillon is co-owner and chief operating officer of C2C and is responsible for finding, making and structuring investment deals. Cris is a true entrepreneur who, except for a few successful years with Standard Bank’s corporate finance division, has predominately been involved in running his own companies. These have included Multipac, LALabel in Los Angeles, Reviva and Axiz Retail. With a degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA, Cris has skills which perfectly complement Gary’s to provide a strong and diverse team.

Johan – CA (SA), studied at the University of the Free State where he obtained his honours degree in accounting, graduating 2nd in his class. He did his articles with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Cape Town. He joined C2C to part of the acquisitions team and to assist in all financial aspects of the group. He is also the Group tax specialist.

Mike Scott – BCompt(UNISA), articled through KPMG, holds varied operational experience in both trading entities and media productions, as well as experience within equity and derivative markets. He joined Coast2Coast to assist with the due diligence process, legal and financial aspects pertaining to that of acquisitions.

Elsabe is the C2C Group Financial Manager and takes care of group consolidations, implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures, review of monthly management accounts of subco’s. Elsabe is a qualified CA(SA) who completed her articles with RSM Betty & Dickson (JHB) and also worked in McGladrey’s audit division (Dallas, Texas), before joining C2C’s team.

Inge Le Grange is C2C’s Financial Accountant, CPA in New York State. Graduated Cum Laude from Marist College, Poughkeepsie NY, on a full tennis scholarship. Responsible for the day to day accounting in C2C, review of management accounts of subco’s, ensuring correct accounting standards are in practice and managing secretarial duties for all companies. Involved in implementing and enforcing controls and procedures, to help streamline processes during all the changes that occur.

Jethro holds a BCom, Management degree from the University of South Africa. He has been involved in the commercial and residential property industry for a number of years investing in Johannesburg’s inner-city property market. Jethro joined Coast2Coast as an Analyst to assist the acquisition team with the due diligence process.

Christo – CA (SA), studied at the University of the Free State where he obtained his Baccalaureus (Cum Laude – Graduated 1st in class) and Honours degree in accounting. He is also studying further having already passed his CFA level 1 and 2.

Christo did his articles with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Bloemfontein. He was also seconded to PwC New York were he gained exposure to private equity and hedge funds.

He joined C2C to part of the acquisitions team and to assist in all financial aspects of the group.
